Three month in the country town!

Since 3 month, now, yes, and I’m really sorry that i didn't give you some news about me, even just un little text of my life in Moora. Close to the end, I’m ready to tell you what i could live in there!

First, Moora's a small town situated at about 170km north of Perth, in Western Australia. But that town is big enough as a small town in a country like that!
There 're approximately 2 000 people in and certainly thousands of acres for cereals cultivation, olives farms and sheep farms. Furthermore, there're IGA, a supermarket, a bottle shop, a clothes shop, the post office, a bakery, a few banks and three pubs! ah! i forgot, a swimming-pool but at this moment, it's closed because it's winter and this pool is an air area.

WINTER
When i'm speaking about winter, it's not the real winter already, it suppose to be in July and august as summer in France.
The temperature are around 17° in the day and in the morning it's about 7°. I know, it's not that cold but we use now, to get 35° in the day and live with, it's really good temperature for chilling ^^ but not for working!

But, Why did i arrive in this town and What am i doing?

After that long crossing sleeping in a campervan first from melbourne to Adelaide and then from Adelaide to Perth in a 4WD sleeping in a tent (without mattress sometimes)but at the beginning a needed really a rest and then the big question about "JOB"!
We always go back on this question about job because we'll need money all over our life. I still had enough money to survive a while but not more! I'm very well organized and i decided to contact a friend from Cataby (60km from Moora on the highway to the north) I've been there one week! It was an australian rest week! I was sleeping in a big bedroom,
with a huge bed, a large window with view on paddocks ^^ all is big in Australia!
A little house (ah!) very cozy, in the middle of a farm, paddocks, cats, dogs, sheep and the wild! it was awesome! Without a car, i couldn't get what i would really want : a job! So with my friend and her boyfriend, we went to different pubs to ask for a job around Moora, the closest town around her house! One week later, i was working!

Bring up there with a farmer and his old truck dusty, full of beers and certainly plenty of spiders ^^ but i could join my workplace: the DROVERS INN!
Nearly arrived, i was already working! in the kitchen all night! it was busy between the restaurant and the bar with the skimpy night!

WORKING AT THE DROVERS INN

The drovers inn is an old building might be 30 years old, that is old for Moora, young town. Close to an Irish design painting in red and green with wood sticks in the hall in the hotel! This is the place for workers as farmers or railway workers. It's also a restaurant, bar and a place for people who use to go there every days to do horses or dogs races with the TAB!
That's the Drovers INN. Almost 3 month i'm working here.

What am i doing? answer : everything!

When someone ask me to do something, i'm going! more hours for more money!
I'm working 7 days a week and a night of rest (skimpy night). I don't have a really good salary but I’ve got an accommodation and foods for free: It's the right place for saving money!
I'm, most of time, in the kitchen, i'm helping the chef to be quick and serve people as fast as we can! I’m washing the dishes as well and doing some preparation to place on plates as salads.
I've seen 5 chefs in almost 3 month, just to show you how instability it is in here! I hope to not see one more but it's on the good way for it! ^^ even if i really don't like the chef at the moment (he drinks a lot, i'm just staying distance with him) anyway! i'm doing as well as i can to stay here until the end of my plan and just working and saving money and that's all!

So 5 chefs in 3 month!

Which instability it is! it was very hard sometimes! now, it's getting better maybe just because i know how work everybody and it was at the beginning of every new chef, learning again and again, be easy and take it easy! no worries mate, i'm doing it! that's it! But it was hard as well due to the different language, not just English but English learnt by a Vietnamese guy David or arti from Thailand, there were an Italian guy Jérôme, an Aussie Beverley and now Eddie from south Africa!
With that ^^! A new team needs to get a fresh organization, a good cooperation, to be together all times working together; no stress and everything will be good! I’ve done the chef during two weeks.. at the beginning was stressful but day after day was pretty good! i wasn't that bad and i felt good! i was cooking everything from the menu, no specials! i'm learning cooking as well, at home i wasn't cooking at least ^^! good one!

At the lunch time :
• drovers burger,
• steak sandwich,
• garlic prawns (prawns in a garlic sauce with rice and salad)
• chicken parmi (chicken with crumble bread on it, we put it in the deep fried and then in the oven with tomato sauce and cheese on top)
• fish and chips
• scotch fillet
At the dinner time :
• still parmi, fish and chips, scotch but there were something else as :
• natural oysters or Kilpatrick
• garlic bread ou bruschetta
• camembert (supposed to be but it isn't really as a real french camembert xD)
• le french chicken ^^ french stuff... (chicken with a slice of camembert roll in a bacon slice and put on it)

That's it! still heaps of things in the menu..that's my job!

What could i do else? this is the question!

Nothing special finally, that's why it was hard at the beginning.. working/working/sleeping/eating and working.. without social life, without friends, just colleague.. not easy every days!

Poi! Glad to be with! But my few first weeks i hadn't headphone to listen with and play, it was broken so i've asked mum to send me them by the australian post ^^
Ah! the australian post ^^ which i can receive my letters from France with 13 days, which is understandable with the long way but i conclude finally that it's not the way from France to Australia the longest but from Perth to Moora ^^!
I say that because i've ordered some new poi from New zealand and.. wait for it..one week to get them instead of 2 days from NZ to france?! ^^ what the fuck?! xD no worries mate! yeah yeah! no worries but a bit faster will be good ^^

So i was telling you about what i'm doing when i'm going out of the drovers inn.
At the beginning my english wasn't as i can speak to you now, it was so hard to explain everything at all. Moreover, those farmers and all people from a country site use to speak in their own dialect.. pretty hard to understand and most of them were speaking about sex all times.. a new girl here, yoohoo, but no worries, it doesn't work like this!! a bit frustrated,
i stayed in my bedroom.. and then after a few weeks i came over because i knew some of them and wasn't that bad finally! I came to the internet shop as well to go on facebook, skype and more.. and more the time goes, more i was thinking "go out and meet people, that's the best way to being good with friends and bla bla bla!^^"and i did! i reckon it was a good idea!
I've met Veronique, from Holland (Nederland) and we had so much fun! and.. i'll tell you after ;)

I would first tell you about moora, which place to go...?

The moora pub (we have to cross the railway and it's at the other side of the road), the moora clb which isn't a nightclub, just a bar as the drovers or the moora pub ^^ but! (there's always "but") where you can find (in each of them) a jukebox which you can put 2 dollars coins and hop! you can go dancing! A question! Why people doesn't dance? They know how to drink and talk but dancing..
So rarely!

My places: the internet shop and those three pubs! that's it! and i've got some tips to pay me some drinks =)

MUSICS!

Which kind of music am i listening? the big question! During the skimpy night, we can earn : ACDC, system of a down, powderfinger, mumford and sons or the black eyed peas, amy winehouse or mc donald, kid cuti, david guetta and hips of commercial's things! But when i would play poi, i can listen : the prodigy, high contrast.. the usual good music from France! ^^
And when i do need to relax me, i can't miss : sigur ròs(still), mùm, moriarty, eddie marcon, fürsaxa, asien or paul kalkbrenner! and when i feel as an aussie ;) i can listen : juzzie smith, xavier rudd or punchier : powderfinger, the cat empire, basement jaxx or tha john butler trio! and for a swing time : jack johnson, tracy chapman, puddle of mud or pete murray! There are some idea about my actual listening! go on you tube now ;)

That is great now! i can go out, meet people and feel as at home because i know almost everybody ^^ it's more comfortable and nicer!
Finally, Moora was : a time to save money but also learning about the hospitalities jobs, a big work on myself and a time to have a rest somewhere with a stable time in that moving year! and feel as at home somewhere! And i've met some really good people as sebastien from Australia as well! =)

What was funny as well, it was learning australian's expression as :
- good on ya!
- catch you later
- no worries mate!
- whatever mate!
- get over or give it out!
- how it's going mate?
- and something funny : Western Australia : What A while by my manager Brad ^^

I've met some backpackers as well but just a few, was really good to speak with!
One night we were 5 people from different country could speak all together! awesome! there were :
graham 45/50 y.o from Australia, Karl 20 y.o from Ireland, Doro 29 y.o from Germany (and Poland), Andrea 27 y.o from Italy and me! and some nights with some Scandinavians people 28/29 y.o and aussie 19/20 y.o! =))
Such a good time!
And now, there's Inge, 20 y.o from Norway and so nice girl!

AND! there are the Dutch girls with who i'm going to do a long way with!

In 3 weeks, this is the end of work! (youhou!) and until the end of my trip (hopefully!) the end of Nicki's voice ^^ (my boss) but also the end of long conversation i could have with some of you on skype! BUT the beginning of a long new adventure!! hiya! so IMPATIENT!
I'm leaving at the end of june to go first to Perth(and try to find a good place for dancing and listening good music!) and then up to Darwin, crocodile's country ^^ and wonderful landscapes! and that with a car and 3 other girls named : veronique, yentl and saskea who i know already them and i know will be nice and fun!
(they're working at the moora pub!) They've a station-wagon! a big discovery of western australia and hips of fun between girls!
But before! i do need to buy some more clothes and flip-flops ^^ 6 month i'm already here and i've put on bins 2 flip-flops pairs, lost one and the same day found a new one ^^ on the beach! At work i used my sports shoes, 2 or 3 tops, my jean, i really need new stuffs! ^^ and we've got a shit washing-machine which it's not a good way to keep your clothes!
I really need shopping! ^^ but shopping in a second hand shop, not to get a jean for 30 box but 4 ^^

My plans? i've got some but i'll tell you later! when it'll happened! surprised! =)

I couldn’t imagine to stay that long in this boring town but i did! and this for 5 month liberty with money! money = more fun = no worries mate =)
This hard for an enjoys life!
Finally, i work and even if i really don't like it, i'm doing it just for money and i'm doing well!

That's it families, friends and everyone else, humans being who are reading it ;)
See you later for new adventure! and i'll try to write a bit more on this blog like i should do! But you know, sometimes it's so nice to live without laptop and just living!
I 'll tell you something else : i'm writing a diary as well and since the 20 of April, i'm writing in english in! that's probably why i could write this big text today ;) but i'm also watching TV, reading the newspaper (when i can), working, going out, writing and thinking in english! a big step in lizzie's life! I'll try to read book but it's so hard! even i France i'm not reading book.. ^^ Anyway i should buy the lonely planet about southeast asia in english so : no choice! (ah! a clue for my plans ^^)

So, In 6 month, i've learned lots about myself, humans society and live with long hairs ^^ i discovered commons points between Europeans people and drive 5000 km. I've flew, i couldn't imagine with this long way from France to Australia, 24hours one way ^^ and such a nice time wait for me ahead! No more work! fingers crossing! I'll do everything for it!

I hope i can see you somewhere in this world again!
Thousands of kisses all of you!

***Liz***

Take care! i will as well =)

Catch you later ;)
